How to Accept an Invite to Another Accounting Firm’s QBO Team

In this blog post, you’ll see what it looks like when you’re invited to join a QuickBooks Online team.

This is different from when a client invites you to their QuickBooks.

This is when an accountant user invites another accountant to their team.

  2. Click Sign in below the Welcome to QuickBooks text
  3. Enter your email address and click Accept Invitation
  4. Enter the 6-digit verification code emailed to you, click Continue

Emailed Invitation

When an account user invites you to their QuickBooks Online team you’ll receive an email that looks like this:

Click the “your invite” link to accept the invitation.

I created this blog post because of the screen you see after you click the invite link. It’s a “create account” screen.  If you’re like me, you already have an account. To sign in with your existing account click the tiny Sign in link below the Welcome to QuickBooks text.

Sign in link on the Welcome to QuickBooks account creation screen

On the next screen, enter the email address associated with your QuickBooks account. Then click the Accept Invitation button.

It will email you a 6-digit verification code. Enter that from your email and click Continue.

Enter the 6-digit verification code emailed to you by Intuit to continue signing into QBO

On the next screen, you’ll select the email address/account to use. Then click Continue. You’ll probably only see this if you have multiple accounts.

Select the account to use if QBO found more than one account for you.

You’ll enter ANOTHER verification code, this time sent to a phone. Then click Continue.

Check your phone, verification code entry screen when accepting a QBO accountant team invite.

Finally, you’ll see a success screen, click Continue.

That’s all there is to it. Scroll down to find a video walking through the process.
