QuickBooks Desktop is now a yearly subscription.
That does not mean it’s cloud software like QuickBooks Online. You still need to download the software onto your computer.
In this blog post, I’ll show you where to go to download QuickBooks Desktop.
Quick Instructions:
- Go to https://camps.intuit.com/
- Enter your Intuit ID and Continue
- Enter your User ID and Password, click Sign In
- Click the QuickBooks Desktop box
- Click Details to the right of the QBDT software you need to download
- Download the software

First, you’ll need to go to https://camps.intuit.com/
On the Welcome screen, you enter your Intuit ID and click the blue Continue button.
This is not the User ID you use to log in to your QuickBooks software.
Forgot your Intuit ID?
If you forgot your Intuit ID, nothing on this page can help. There’s no “lost your ID?” link.
Instead, you have to enter something random and click the Continue button.
This will take you to the “Create an Intuit Account” screen.
In the upper right corner next to the Sign In button, there’s a little I forgot my user ID or password link.
Sign In
Next is the Sign In screen. On this screen you enter your Intuit ID again along with your password then click the green Sign In button.
Manage your QuickBooks
Now that you’ve signed in you’ll see a list of all your QuickBooks products.
As a bookkeeper, I have more software here than the average user.
You’re likely to only see QuickBooks Desktop.
Click on the QuickBooks Desktop box to continue.
Products & Services
On the Products & Services screen, you’ll see a list of your QuickBooks products.
Click on the Details link to the right to open a screen where you’ll be able to download your software.
You now know where to go to download your QuickBooks Desktop software.
